FAQs
Q: What services does Ed Skoch Cooling & Heating Co. offer?
A: We’re proud to offer a full suite of HVAC services, including air conditioning, heating, and indoor air quality products and services. We are pleased to perform heating system installation and service, A/C installation and service, air filtration, and emergency service.
Q: What type of heating system do I have?
A: Furnaces and boilers are the main types of heating systems. Furnaces function as forced hot air systems, and boilers are forced hot water. You can easily tell which type of system you have in your home by the type of heaters you have. If you have vents, you have a furnace. And if you have baseboard heat or a radiator, you have a boiler.
Q: What are the different types of Indoor Air Quality treatments?
A: You can install air filtration systems in your home, and you can also install humidifiers and dehumidifiers. Air filtration systems filter out allergens and airborne particulates, and humidifiers and dehumidifiers balance the air’s moisture in your home.
Q: Do I need to schedule a tune-up for my HVAC equipment every year?
A: It’s important to schedule tune-ups for your air conditioner and heating equipment every year before the seasons of use begin. A yearly tune-up is essential to keep your boiler, furnace, or air conditioner working efficiently and safely. During an annual tune-up, your HVAC tech will perform a safety inspection and can identify any minor issues before they become major problems. Benefits of a tune-up include:
- Maximum energy efficiency
- Lower energy bills
- Reduced risk of breakdowns
- Savings on unexpected repairs
Q: Does Ed Skoch Cooling & Heating Co. offer service plans?
A: Yes, we offer heating system and air conditioning service plans to protect your HVAC equipment. Our service plans include an annual tune-up and safety inspection, discounted parts and labor, priority service, and emergency service.
Q: What do I do if I do not have heat?
A: Follow this short checklist to troubleshoot your heating system:
- Check your fuel tank gauge. If you need fuel, call your delivery provider
- If you have fuel in your tank, check your thermostat. Make sure it is set to HEAT and the COOL function is not on instead.
- Check that all heating system emergency switches are in the ON position.
- Press the RESET button on your heating system ONCE ONLY.
If you’ve performed all of the above steps and you still don’t have heat, call our staff right away. We offer 24/7 emergency heating service to our customers.

Q: What is the difference between a ductless mini-split A/C and a central air conditioner?
